Interested in a career working with animals? Dog’s Day may be right for you.

Dog’s Day Farm is occasionally looking for energetic, reliable and friendly dog lovers for part-time (with possibility of full-time), on-call and overnight positions caring for our canine daycare and boarding guests. The job is both fun and challenging, with lots of time spent outdoors (indoors too)!

Pay rate is dependent on experience, with a pay increase after your trial period and completion of our dog behavior training courses.

Applicants Must

  • Love dogs — experience with dogs and dog behavior is a plus
  • Be able to run, walk and move frequently and quickly throughout the day
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs to waist height
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Be honest and trustworthy
  • Be reliable and punctual (5 minutes early for every shift)
  • Be well organized, able to multitask, and pay close attention to detail
  • Be good with people — cooperative and courteous with clients and co-workers
  • Be able to withstand extreme weather
  • Be comfortable with computers and smartphones (you will be trained to use our software programs)
  • Dress appropriately for the weather as well as interaction with clients
  • Be flexible with schedule and available for at least 2 major holidays (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day and Independence Day)

Daily Tasks Include

(but are not limited to)

  • Playing with, caring for, loving, and managing dogs in groups of 10+, both indoors and outdoors
  • Communicating effectively and respectfully with our human clients as well as co-workers
  • Communicating with clients about their dogs
  • Maintaining a safe environment for dogs in our care
  • Intensive cleaning
  • Yard maintenance
  • Preparing and feeding meals and administering medications
  • Occasional manual labor
