Matt and Kelly both grew up in Montgomery County and now live with their three children, two dogs (Baer and Tess) and one cat (Sleepy) on a 25 acre farm in Gaithersburg, MD.
Matt and Kelly have a wealth of experience working with dogs, both individually and in group settings and have been managing large groups of dogs for several years. Matt left his thriving coffee business in 2010 to pursue his longtime dream of creating a farm for dogs to play. He assisted with dog training at Your Dog’s Friend, a non-profit in Rockville, Maryland. Kelly has years of experience with dogs, and has a background in childcare and small business. Besides helping to manage day-to-day operations, you might find her showing off her handy-woman skills, making repairs and picking-up slack around the farm. She is very excited about helping to watch over your pup. Matt and Kelly are also former volunteers at the Montgomery County Humane Society, caring for the shelter dogs.
“We are both huge animal lovers, but are also good “people” people! We know you will be happy with your decision to give us the privilege of caring for your pet.”

Hi, my name is Kelsey Schmid. I’m currently going to UMUC for a bachelors degree in Business. My love for animals has always played a big role in my life. From horses to hamsters to fish to dogs, I’ve always been very hands on with every critter I’ve come in contact with. I have 4 years prior experience with working for a cage free dog daycare/boarding facility before coming to Dog’s Day. My extensive experience in managing large groups of dogs will help ensure your dog’s stay at Dog’s Day is both safe and fun. Dog’s Day is a great place for your dog to get a mini vacation away from home with all their closest friends! I look forward to coming to work everyday and being able to fall in love with all the dogs that come here.

My name is Joseph Cross. I am 23 years old and currently going back to school for my Bachelors in Market Analysis. I have always had an affinity for dogs and animals in general. I grew up always owning dogs and even helped a local breeder breed multiple litters of puppies. I have been working for Dogs Day Pet Care for 2 years now and have acquired a great deal of experience with caring for dogs. My goal as a caregiver is to form strong bonds with all the dogs I interact with in order to encourage a safe and playful environment for your pet.
Hi my name is Kenzie Gilbert! I am currently attending MC for my associates degree in Environmental Science. I am a certified veterinarian assistant which led me to look for a job where I could interact with the dogs. I found the happiest job I could ever imagine for myself. It is an amazing feeling to be excited to go to work every single day. I do not have any pets but I believe that is a benefit because I love every dog here as if they were my own. Dog’s Day has created an incredible home away from home for your dog. There will always be happiness and friends waiting for your dog here at Dog’s Day.
Hi, my name is Mary! My background is fitness and my passion is pets. I have 3 Siberian Huskies (Nikita, Charlee & Mishka) and to say they are the loves of my life is an understatement. We go on long walks, hike on some of the local trails as well as taking field trips to local pet stores and Starbucks. In my spare time, I teach classes at a local fitness club and compete in some of Montgomery County’s running races. With over 20 years of dog handling experience, Dog’s Day is the perfect fit for me!
